Central Moravian Church celebrates the UNESCO World Heritage inscription recognizing the Moravian Church Settlements of Gracehill (N. Ireland) and Herrnhut (Germany) as well as Bethlehem. As an active and vibrant Moravian faith community in Bethlehem for over 282 years, we are thrilled to be recognized for the ways that our buildings and ministries have and continue to lead to substantial contributions to community building in serving the common good for all God’s children.

Celebrate with all the Moravian Church Settlements (including already recognized Christiansfeld Moravian Church in Denmark) on Sunday, August 4th at 12 p.m. as we host a brief worship gathering. Using livestream, the pastors and lay leaders of Gracehill, Christiansfeld, and Herrnhut will join us in bringing greetings in this unique service. (Come to worship at 10 a.m. in the Sanctuary and then stay around for light refreshments and this service at 12 p.m.). Zoom link will be shared soon if you can’t join us in person.

Bethlehem recognition is also planned for Wednesday, August 7th beginning in Central’s Sanctuary at 9 a.m. and processing to the City Hall at 10 a.m. for a press conference celebrating the World Heritage inscription. All are welcome!
