Richard Miller’s 30 Year Anniversary Celebration – Sanctuary Worship
May 25 @ 10:00 am
Celebrating Chapel Organist, Richard Miller!
86 cents. That’s the cost of eggs the year that Richard started as Old Chapel organist, in 1994! Milk was $1.44. While we might not be pleased with the ways that our grocery prices have grown, we are so pleased with the way that the music provided for us during the 9 a.m. Old Chapel worship services have grown over the last 30 years! Richard provides not only a wonderful selection of special organ and piano music but invites instrumentalists from the congregation to offer their musical gifts, educates us with his Grace Notes from the Organ Bench, and has served as the Fearless Leader of the Old Chapel choir, nurturing them into a wonderful musical and spiritual community over these years. Last month, Richard took the Chapel choir on the road as they shared music with residents of Moravian Hall Square during their afternoon service. Richard has also been a treasured colleague to Becky, assisting her by playing Christmas morning services, Holy Week services, and additional worship services when Becky is on vacation or is unable to play. Please join us for our first summer service in the sanctuary on Sunday, May 25th at 10 a.m. as we recognize and honor Richard with a joint choir and special tributes, as well as with a reception following in the sanctuary.Did you know that Richard is also an author? Be sure to check out his new children’s book, “Fred Snufflenose and the Baby Ducks” which details the adventures of empty eggs and missing ducklings all around Central Moravian Church and the Historic District. A wonderful gift to share, and available on Amazon and other booksellers online.
