“The Seven Last Words of Christ”
The evening of Good Friday, April 7 at 7 p.m., will offer a time for quiet contemplation, prayer, and meditation in this reprise of Central’s service focused on the last words of Jesus. Based on the reading of scripture and the “Poem After the Seven Last Words” by Mark Strand, our worship will be filled with times of silence, musical meditations and hymns in the beauty of the Old Chapel. This poem was originally commissioned by the Brentano String Quartet for reading during their performance of Haydn’s masterpiece, The Seven Last
Words of Christ.
